The plantation is a strip of woodland on the Goring Gap, between Ferring and Goring in West Sussex.

First defined in the 1960’s these ‘gaps’ were created to protect the remaining areas of unspoilt Sussex coastline.

Today there are 22 ‘gaps’in West Sussex, whichprovide natural breaks between coastal villages.
